As Advisor, Right to Information (RTI) and Privacy, you will be responsible for the management and administration of the OQO’s compliance with the Information Privacy Act 2009 (Qld) (IP Act) and the Right to Information Act 2009 (Qld) (RTI Act).ᅠYou will be the first point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders in responding to enquiries and requests in relation to privacy and right to information.ᅠYou will exercise decision making powers under the RTI Act, assess privacy complaints and conduct privacy impact assessments.ᅠ You will also contribute to policy development, training and reporting on these matters.You will contribute to the effective operation of the OQO. Your work key responsibilities are:To exercise delegated decision making power under the RTI Act, and respond to administrative access applications.Undertake all steps necessary in the above decision-making processes, including consulting with internal and external stakeholders in relation to requests to access to OQO information.Provide internal advice concerning RTI and privacy, including about the Queensland Privacy Principles, potential privacy breaches, privacy complaints and conducting privacy impact assessments.Assess and manage privacy breaches and suspected breaches, in consultation with General Counsel.Manage communications with the Office of the Information Commissioner, including in relation to external reviews and privacy breach notifications, in consultation with General Counsel.Contribute to the development and review of policies, processes and systems, related to information access and privacy.Use research, analytical and writing skills to prepare letters, reports, briefing notes, submissions, presentations, complaint responses and associated materials related to information access and privacy. Deliver and assist with the development of information access and privacy awareness education.Maintain registers related to privacy and RTI, assist in reporting to senior management, and in meeting OQO's statutory reporting obligations.You Will Be Expected Tomodel exemplary standards of personal integrity and ethics and demonstrate the Office's values in all interactions internal and external to the Officework collaboratively with other team members, participate in meetings and training programs, and actively monitor, review and assist with improvements to policy, procedure, process and administrative practice across the Office and stakeholder agenciesprovide support and guidance for a culturally inclusive and safe workplace, ensuring cultural identity and perspectives are valuedadhere to the OQO Code of Conduct and values; workplace health and safety legislation; confidentiality policies; all other relevant policies, directives and legislationmeet personal performance expectations and standardsundertake other duties as directed by relevant senior officers.RoleAppointments to the OQO are based on merit.
