In the Caribbean region, we are leveraging our expertise and collaborative approach to deliver world-class infrastructure projects tailored to meet the unique needs of the island communities. Reporting to the Senior Director of Finance, the Finance Manager will be responsible for financial administration including reporting, budgeting, forecasting and day-to-day transactions to ensure that the financial objectives are met, and accounting procedures are carried out.
What You'll Do HereOversight of finance activities within a business unit or functional area, this could include financial reporting, budgeting, taxationCoordinate the close off process and prepare monthly consolidated financial statements and related schedules & notesConsolidation of joint arrangements for financial statement preparationWork effectively with, influence and support projects teams, joint arrangements & JV PartnersImplement & manage internal control proceduresCoordinate & manage internal and external auditsDevelop annual budgets and quarterly forecasts in concert with the respective business partnersInvestigate / analyze departmental variances from budgets/forecast on a monthly/quarterly basis – working closely with business partnersInvolved in supporting accounting research to provide recommendations, ensuring the Company complies with all areas of IFRS and in accordance with established Aecon policies and proceduresEnhance the applicable finance processes and support process improvement initiatives to achieve financial goals and improve efficiency and profitabilityBuild a strong network across various teams to handle a wide range of analytical and operational issuesSupport preparation of financial presentations & analyses for the leadership teamSupport preparation of ad-hoc financial analyses (including “what-if” scenario analysis) as required to support business partnersWhat You Bring To The Team7+ years of professional finance experience, preferably in the Construction industryDegree in Accounting or Business Management requiredAccounting designation – CPA or CA requiredStrong knowledge of IFRS and percentage of completion accountingDemonstrated ability to perform in a leadership capacityStrong planning and organizational skillsAbility to effectively prioritize and execute multiple tasks under pressureExcellent communication skills (both written and oral)Strong knowledge of financial management is requiredAbility to work independently as well as in a team environmentMust be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment within a small teamAecon fosters diversity , inclusion and belonging within and across our organization.
