About NightlyNightly is building a new category of live experience.. where music, belonging, and impact collide. From sold-out grad concerts to college-city tours, our shows are designed to feel cinematic and human. Behind the scenes, we’re using technology and creativity to engineer emotion at scale.The RoleWe’re looking for an AI Intern who lives at the intersection of code, creativity, and culture, someone who can help us design the emotional layer of live events. This means building and experimenting with tools that understand crowds, generate media, and connect people before, during, and after the show.You’ll prototype new ways to fuse AI + music + human connection into Nightly’s ecosystem. Think: systems that read energy from the crowd, algorithms that shape mood transitions in a set, or generative storytelling tools that help fans feel part of something bigger.What You’ll DoPrototype creative AI tools for live-event use: real-time emotion detection, recap-generation, crowd-energy visualization, or personalized fan storytelling.Work with our media team to experiment with AI-driven audio, lighting, and visual cues that heighten emotional flow during shows.Build internal automations that make production smarter- AI-assisted clip editors, caption generators, or “emotion maps” from crowd footage.Collaborate with event ops to test small-scale emotional-tech experiments at real shows.Assist in designing and later helping the Nightly AI Hackathon, helping recruit teams, design challenge prompts, and evaluate submissions.Document findings, run experiments, and present creative demos that push boundaries of event tech.Ideal BackgroundUndergraduate or graduate student in Computer Science, Data Science, Music Technology, or Interactive Media.Strong Python skills; comfort with AI frameworks (OpenAI API or similar).Fascinated by how technology shapes emotion, art, and shared human experience.Portfolio or side projects involving generative media, ML, or music tech.Eager to learn in a fast, experimental environment.What You’ll GainHands-on access to Nightly’s creative and production process.Mentorship from both creative and technical (Nightly Ops & Engineering) leads.The chance to build prototypes that appear in real Nightly events.Direct pathway to a continuing role as Nightly expands its Event Tech division.How to ApplySend your resume, GitHub or portfolio link, and a short note titled “How I’d Use AI to Move a Crowd.” Applications: leadership@nightlyhq.com
