Role OverviewAs AirBills’ HR Manager, you’ll oversee HR operations, talent acquisition, onboarding, compliance, and culture-building activities.
You will establish people programs that attract top talent, maximize retention, and ensure a supportive, high-performance environment in a fully remote context. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role for a proactive HR professional excited to shape the foundation of a fast-growing technology organization. Key ResponsibilitiesTalent Acquisition & OnboardingLead recruiting efforts across all departments (sales, engineering, customer success, operations, marketing)Manage the entire hiring lifecycle:
sourcing, interviewing, extending offers, and new-hire onboardingDevelop onboarding frameworks to foster early engagement and productivity for remote employeesHR Operations & ComplianceOversee HR systems, payroll, benefits administration, and compliance with labor laws (multi-state and federal)Maintain accurate employee records, handbooks, and HR policiesPartner with Finance on headcount planning and compensation benchmarkingEmployee Experience & CultureChampion AirBills’ core values and culture, supporting programs that drive engagement, well-being, and inclusionSupport employee communications, recognition programs, team retreats, and DEI (diversity, equity, inclusion) initiativesOrganize virtual and in-person team events to connect distributed staffTalent Development & PerformanceImplement and manage performance review cycles, goal-setting, and feedback processesCoach managers on development plans, employee relations, and corrective action protocolsAnalyze training needs and coordinate learning and development budgets/programsHR Strategy & ProjectsDrive HR process improvements and automation (HRIS, workflow tools, digital onboarding)Monitor HR KPIs (turnover, retention, eNPS, time-to-fill, DEI metrics) and report to leadershipAdvise founders and leadership on org design, succession planning, and scaling people programsExperience & Skills4–7 years HR generalist, people operations, or talent management experience, preferably in SaaS, startups, or remote-first teamsTrack record overseeing recruiting, onboarding, compliance, HR operations, and cultureAdvanced knowledge of HR software (HRIS, payroll, ATS, benefits platforms)Strong knowledge of U.
S. labor law (multi-state), benefits administration, and best practices for remote workExceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
