Job Description

Role OverviewYou will lead local business development efforts in Mexico to acquire and grow high-potential key buyers on Alibaba.com. This is a highly execution-focused role combining field sales leadership with hands-on customer acquisition. You will build and manage an external lead pipeline, run multi-channel outreach, and drive conversion from first order to repeat purchase through disciplined funnel management.Key Responsibilities1. Drive the acquisition of high-potential key buyers and convert them into active, engaged buyers, delivering measurable impact on first-order conversion, repeat purchases, and GMV contribution.2. Source, qualify, and maintain a high-quality lead pipeline using channels such as Google Maps, trade shows/conferences, industry associations, e-commerce platforms, and service partners, and establish a reusable target account database.3. Design and run structured outreach cadences across WhatsApp Business, phone calls, in-person visits (stores/offices/factories), and VIP community operations, ensuring weekly outreach and progression targets are consistently met.4. Translate Alibaba.com’s product capabilities and value propositions into customer outcomes, enabling first orders and high-quality ongoing engagement, while continuously optimizing LTV and ROI.5. Track funnel performance (outreach → qualified interest → order → repeat), lead regular performance reviews, identify bottlenecks, and iterate playbooks, messaging, and execution to improve efficiency and conversion.Qualifications1. Willing and able to work offline at high frequency, with at least 3 days per week in the field to coach execution and/or personally visit customers (retail stores, wholesalers, factories, industry events, etc.).2. Experience in recruiting, coaching, task assignment, motivation, and execution management; strong capability in daily goal-setting, progress tracking, and structured retrospectives.3. Proficient in WhatsApp Business outreach, phone selling, face-to-face meetings, and community operations, with the ability to optimize scripts and tactics quickly based on customer feedback and data.4. Demonstrated track record with clear metrics (e.g., revenue, # of first orders, monthly outreach volume, conversion counts, GMV contribution, repeat rate, etc.).5. Familiar with procurement decision-making in retail, wholesale, and manufacturing; able to assess buyer quality and partnership potential quickly and allocate resources efficiently.6. Strong listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills to support cross-functional collaboration and basic business communication.7. Skilled in Excel for data cleansing, funnel tracking, performance dashboards, and review analysis to support decision-making and execution improvements.Nice to Have1. Experience in cross-border e-commerce, B2B marketplaces, or key account acquisition.2. Existing network in retail/wholesale/manufacturing procurement in Mexico.3. Experience building lead pipelines and field outreach playbooks from scratch.
