About the JobThe Position: The Application Engineer for Photovoltaic Power Plants (PV) will provide technical support and expertise in the design, integration, and operation of PV solutions. Reporting to the Technical Coordinator for PV, this role is responsible for supporting technical proposals, collaborating with clients, and ensuring the successful implementation of solar generation projects. The position requires a strong technical foundation in power electronics and grid interconnection, combined with effective communication and problem-solving skills to support both internal teams and external stakeholders.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide pre-sales technical support and alignment with clients (EPCs, developers, utilities, technical advisors).Support the sales and project teams with optimized technical solutions for PV systems.Act as a trusted technical advisor to clients and partners throughout the project lifecycle.Follow market demands and technical requirements of key accounts and regional utilities.Establish and maintain an effective communication channel between internal technical teams and external stakeholders.Interpret and implement local grid codes and regulatory requirements applicable to PV systems.Support, coordinate, and develop technical offers, configurations, and system designs.Justify and promote Sungrow PV solutions from a technical standpoint to drive customer preference.Collect and analyze market and competitor data, including standards, product trends, and emerging technologies.Conduct technical training, workshops, and presentations for clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.Represent the company in national and international trade fairs and conferences.Perform other tasks related to the position as needed.Minimum RequirementsMinimum 3 years of experience in photovoltaic systems, power electronics, or renewable energy sectors.Hands-on experience with inverter systems, medium-voltage equipment, and grid connection studies (load flow, short circuit, harmonics, or transient analysis).Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve technical challenges.Proficiency in technical documentation, simulation tools, and performance analysis (e.g., PVSyst, DIgSILENT, PSCAD, EMTP-RV).Familiarity with SCADA, communication protocols, and system integration is a plus.Willingness to travel nationally and internationally as required.Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; Mandarin is a plus.Education or Desired Licenses and CertificatesBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related technical field.Certifications in photovoltaic systems, power electronics, or grid interconnection are advantageous.CompetenciesStrong analytical and technical problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.Excellent organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.Customer-oriented mindset with strong interpersonal communication.Capacity to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively under tight deadlines.Location: Based in Mexico
