Application Modernization Specialist - GCP

Title: Application Modernization (AppMod) EngineerLocation: Kuwait - OnsiteDuration: 12 Months - ExteanbleKey ResponsibilitiesAssess legacy applications and identify modernization opportunities.Design and implement cloud-native architectures aligned with Google Cloud best practices.Perform application performance profiling, tuning, and optimization.Apply architectural design patterns to ensure scalability, security, and reliability.Work with platform engineering components including:Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)Automation frameworksImage and repository managementDeploy applications using virtualization, containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and microservices principles.Implement application security, networking configurations, and CI/CD pipelines.Collaborate with developers, cloud engineers, and architecture teams to deliver modernization roadmaps.Participate in discussions with technical stakeholders and executive leaders, presenting architecture options, risks, and recommendations.Support troubleshooting and provide guidance throughout the modernization lifecycle.Required Skills & ExperienceStrong understanding of cloud native development principles.Experience in application modernization and migration strategies.Hands-on experience with GCP services related to application development and modernization.Good knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, and automation tools.Experience with container platforms (Kubernetes preferred).Knowledge of application security, networking concepts, and performance optimization.Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders.Google Cloud certification (mandatory).Arabic speaking (mandatory).Willingness to travel as required.
