Summary of the RoleThe Application Scientist is a full-time role accountable for understanding member’s problems and working with them to address their needs by applying Lhasa’s solutions and supporting the development of the science we do at Lhasa. Reports to the Director of Applied Sciences or their nominee.Main ResponsibilitiesScientific expert who bridges the gap between our science and industrial applicationsBuild strong relationships with members and regulators, understand their needs, and work with them to apply our solutions to retain them as membersProvide training on the application of our solutions Build strong, lasting relationships with our members and become a trusted scientific expert in the application of our solutionsDevelop a solid understanding of all Lhasa solutions and how they are applied across various industriesIdentify opportunities to support solution development by gathering data and insights that enable our teams to create real value for members and regulatorsPrioritise member feedback and ensure it is reflected in solution developmentProvide technical support and on complex member queriesCommunicate the value of our in-silico solutions through scientific publications, conference presentations, and postersAttributes expected in a suitable candidateAn undergraduate degree, master's or PhD in a relevant chemistry or toxicology related disciplineExpert scientific communicator who understands our members’ needs and can confidently demonstrate our solutionsUnderstanding of chemical structures and the application of in silico predictionsProactive, solution focused and confident working independently as well as in a teamNegotiation and leadership skillsInterpersonal skills and sensitivity to cultural differencesAble to travel regularly within Japan and as required, internationallyAble to speak Japanese fluentlyAble to understand and communicate in English
