Architect – Planning & Engineering As an Architect in the Planning & Engineering team, you will play a key role in designing future-ready logistics and industrial facilities. This role focuses on the strategic design of warehouse interiors and external yard spaces, ensuring optimal flow, safety, and operational efficiency. Type of contract: B2B Hourly rate: €45–50/hour Contract duration: Up to 3 yearsKey ResponsibilitiesDesign and optimize warehouse layouts and external yard configurations with a focus on functionality, logistics flow, and safety.Develop 2D and 3D designs using AutoCAD and SketchUp.Perform vehicle tracking simulations for trucks and vans to validate circulation, parking, and access zones.Conduct fitting/layout tests for:Internal equipment: conveyors, sortation systems, racking, functional zones.External vehicle zones: loading docks, driveways, maneuvering spaces, parking.Integrate civil engineering components into plans, including:Electrical and load planningDrainage, stormwater, and utilities routingConcrete slabs, foundations, and roofing structuresCollaborate with project managers, developers, and cross-functional teams to ensure designs align with project goals and compliance standards.Support construction phases by reviewing plans, assisting with clarifications, and ensuring execution matches the design intent.Your ProfileBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Industrial Design, or a related field.8+ years of experience in industrial/warehouse design, preferably within logistics or courier sectors.Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and vehicle tracking software.Solid understanding of civil and structural engineering, including:MEP and electrical layoutsDrainage/utilities designConcrete, steel structures, and roofing systemsProven experience with equipment and vehicle fitting simulations.Strong skills in technical drawings and interpreting construction documentation.Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration abilities.Experience in greenfield, brownfield, or retrofit logistics projects.Familiarity with local building codes and logistics industry standards.Hands-on involvement in construction or execution supervision is a plus.
