The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).Position SummaryInuit Youth Futures is a three-strand intervention project that aims to promote young people’s ability to project themselves into the future. It is geared towards meeting youth where they are at and supporting them in re-engaging with life through individual and community development with the arts. This project combines: 1) establishing an Art Studio for youth to engage with the arts, 2) collaborating with emerging Inuit artists to guide and inspire youth, and 3) implement an art-based suicide intervention program called Arts in Recovery for Youth (AIRY).The art therapist will report directly to the PI. Primary responsibilities include: assist in the development of AIRY for Inuit youth participate in AIRY training participate in OCAP training participate in DBT training deliver and support delivery of intervention in Inukjuakprovide supervision to others delivering the intervention or working in the art studioGeneral DutiesCoordinate the establishment of the AIRY program with team, local actors, youth ambassadors, artists, knowledge usersAssist with preparation of reports, manuscripts, and grant applicationsActively reflect on ways to improve and evolve AIRY programDeliver AIRY interventions in the Art StudioCo-lead (with PI and post-doc) weekly clinical supervision meetings for community art coordinators, research assistant, and other AIRY facilitators such as youth to discuss concerns and provide support for secondary traumatic stress (1 session/week for max duration of 2 hours)Develop AIRY workshop, open-art studio, intervention activitiesCollaborate on the creation of the research protocolCollect research data and consult on data analysis resultsTake field notesDocument art-productions as art-based dataAdminister pre- and post-AIRY workshop surveysStanding consultation with steering committee and advisory council (both youth and general)Monitor, implement, and evaluate researchCreate, coordinate, and participate in the Governance Advisory GroupFacilitate, coordinate, and participate in team research meetings (including presenting findings, progress reports for research, writing manuscripts, and grants)Establish process for seeing assistance external to project and for raising complaintsDocument and coordinate with parents and clinicians involvedTravel to Inukjuak for program launch, delivery and monitoring-evaluation purposes.Website of the organizationhttps://rimuhc.ca/enEducation / ExperienceEducation: Master's DegreeField of Study: Creative Arts TherapiesWork Experience: 4 years in Northern communities is mandatoryRequired Skills Excellent English, spoken and written, French is a bonus.
