Department:Content & Artist Management (A&R)Reports To:Deputy CEO (DCEO)Job Summary:The A&R Manager will lead Music Nepal’s catalogue management, creative discovery and artist development function, responsible for managing & optimizing the vast catalogue, identifying emerging talent, managing relationships, and ensuring quality, commercially viable content is produced and distributed in alignment with the company's strategy.This role bridges the creative and business aspects of the label, combining artistic intuition with data-driven decision-making to shape Music Nepal’s evolving catalogue and market presence.Key Responsibilities1. Planning & Content Management- Lead weekly meetings to plan and prioritize content projects.- Present new content ideas and finalize monthly content calendars.- Evaluate songs and projects based on quality, originality, and audience analytics- Approve project budgets and ensure timely release schedules.- Lead weekly creative planning meetings and monthly content calendar reviews. Deliverables: Work plans, approved content calendar, meeting minutes.2. Artist & Partnership Relations- Identify and nurture upcoming talent across genres and regions.- Coordinate with artists and legal/admin teams to finalize agreements.- Resolve artist issues and ensure good communication.- Explore new business opportunities and partnerships in the industry.- Represent MN in talent showcases, music festivals, and industry events.- Develop artist growth plans, including song strategy, performance, and brandingDeliverables: Artist meeting notes, signed agreements, issue logs, business growth reports.3. Content Production & Quality Control- Review and approve lyrical videos, songs, and articles for quality.- Supervise recording sessions and studio coordination with artists and engineers.- Maintain production standards and ensure content is release-ready.- Select ‘hit’ or high-performing songs from the company’s library.- Oversee uploads and ensure artist payments are processed.- Collaborate with marketing and content teams for campaign tie-ins and remakes.Deliverables: Reviewed content, production reports, curated song lists, payment confirmations.4. Partnerships & Business Growth- Build and sustain relationships with artists, managers, studios, and partners.- Negotiate collaborations, licensing, and promotional tie-ups.- Identify new business models and opportunities for the label’s growth. Deliverables: Partnership MOUs, collaboration summaries, growth proposals.5. Radio & New Media Development- Lead projects for online and live radio upgrades.- Manage the creation of radio IDs, signature tunes, and show intros.- Oversee radio playlist creation and ensure smooth programming.Deliverables: Radio strategy plan, audio IDs, program playlist.6. Administration & Team Development- Mentor A&R team members and assist in training programs for artist relations- Manage appointments and meeting schedules with admin support.- Develop standard procedures (SOPs) for artist meetings and junior staff training.- Support team members in improving artist communication and coordination.Deliverables: Appointment calendar, SOPs, staff guidelines.Key Working RelationshipsInternal:- DCEO – approvals and strategic direction.- Content Team – daily coordination.- Studio & Technical Team – production and uploads.- HR & Admin – agreements, approvals, and scheduling.External:- Artists and Talent – project management, issue resolution, and collaboration.- Clients and Partners – for new business and partnership development.Core Skills Required- Strong artist and relationship management skills- Strategic and creative thinking- Excellent coordination and communication- Project and time management- Basic understanding of music production and content workflowQualifications & SkillsBachelor’s/Master’s in Media, Music Business, or related field.Demonstrated ability to identify talent and turn creative ideas into successful releases.7+ years of experience in content management, preferably in the music or digital media industry.Strong understanding of copyright, licensing, and digital distribution.Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.An analytical mindset with an ability to interpret streaming data and audience insightsPassion for Nepali music and global creative collaboration.To Apply:Please send your CV and a cover letter outlining your relevant experience and interest in the role to [hr@musicnepal.com] by 15th November, 2025.
