The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Officer/Specialist will support the development and implementation of CSR policies and strategy across the business. About This RoleThe role is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing security policies and procedures to protect the company’s assets, operations, and facilities at the mining site. The role ensures a safe and secure environment by mitigating security risks, preventing loss, and coordinating with government and local authorities.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement, and enforce security policies, procedures, and protocols for the mining site aimed at protecting the company’s personnel, environment, assets including core products, reputation and social license. Manage all security operations, including access control, surveillance systems, patrols, and investigations. Ensure the technical maturity of relevant security technologies and systems as approved by management. Investigate security breaches, incidents, and loss of company assets, and report findings to management. Strategically manage and oversee the deployment of security personnel, contracted guards and security technologies.
Plan, develop, and effectively implement training programs for internal and external security resourcesDevelop, plan and implement an annual operations plan and ensure that security is incorporated in routine operations, forecasting, and strategic planning. Direct the Site Security budgeting process and manage the budget by forecasting costs and monitoring expenditure to ensure cost control for the Project and Operations. Co-ordinate the collection and analysis efforts targeted at providing timely and accurate assessments and warnings of developing security threats. Manage Intelligence data collection and reporting.
Manage and implement Strict Access Control SOP for the site and ensure effective compliance with the process and procedures. Plan, manage and conduct risk assessments on all areas, and or/or specific functions to be assessed and implement appropriate mitigation action plans. Prepare and present regular security reports to senior management. Train and sensitize staff on security awareness, procedures, and emergency response protocols. Support community engagement strategies and promote peaceful coexistence between the mine and local communities.
Support the company’s social license strategy by ensuring adherence the site’s adherence to the Voluntary Principles in Security and Human Rights (VPSHR). Manage crisis and emergency response strategies affecting the security of the mine. Implement effective strategies to detect, deter and respond to illegal mining activities within the company’s mining and prospecting leases. Education, Work Experience & Key CompetenciesBachelor’s degree or equivalent certificate in the fields of Security Management, Emergency Management, Criminal Justice or related discipline. Previous experience in the Military, Police or Government Intelligence services at Commissioned Officer level is desirable.
Internationally recognized professional qualification and certification in Security. A minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience with at least 2 years at the supervisory or management level. Experience within the security industry is required, mining and gold room security experience preferredExperience in reporting and emergency response planning. Excellent knowledge of security protocols and procedures. Strong analytical skills and business acumen to make sound decisions and recommendations. Solid understanding of budgeting and statistical data analysis. Excellent information monitoring and management skills.
Deep knowledge of and experience in gold circuit protection, security technology systems, including access control systems and alarms, and certain advanced security technology systems. Exceptional decision-making skills and problem-solving. Demonstrate ability to lead and develop a competent team. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to work in diverse cultures. Excellent people management and leadership abilities.
