As part of the Montrose Environmental Group, a global leader in environmental solutions, we’re on an exciting growth journey – and we want you to be part of it!Epic EssentialsA new role has been created for an Assistant Accountant to join a growing environmental consulting business located in the Brisbane CBD. You will form part of the business support team and support the business across our Australian footprint but also work closely with our US corporate accounting team. It is an exciting time for the business as we moved away from Xero to Workday as our new ERP. Reporting to the commercial manager your tasks will include:Process Supplier invoices: Accounts payable processing ensuring timely payment and accurate coding.Process customer invoices: Prepare accurate and timely invoices based on purchase orders, contracts, and service agreements.Data entry and verification: Input and verify data into accounting software, ensuring accuracy of customer information, quantities, pricing, and tax calculations.Maintain records: Organize and maintain electronic and paper filing systems for invoices and related documentation.Customer service: Respond to customer inquiries regarding invoices, answer questions clearly and professionally.Accounts receivable collections: Monitor accounts receivable aging, follow up on overdue payments, and coordinate with the Accounts Receivable team to resolve issues and expedite collections.Resolve discrepancies: Identify and research any inconsistencies in invoices, communicate with relevant departments to resolve issues.Reporting: Generate reports on invoicing activity and outstanding balances as needed.ERP: Mastery of invoicing and reporting withing the Workday system.Attend to internal and external auditors’ questions for information.Assistance across the organisation regarding finance and general administration where required.Work with our Commercial Manager to improve processes, systems and business productivity.What You Will BringTo be considered for this position, you will need to possess the following:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.1-2 years of relevant work experience preferred.Working understanding of invoicing principles and basic accounting concepts.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) or similar software programs.Demonstrate a strong desire to learn the ins and outs of Workday and a willingness to explore its functionalities.Outstanding attention to detailCan do attitude!OUR VALUESWe are down to earthWe create value for our clientWe embrace our differencesWe never stop learningWe work togetherWe leave a positive legacyEPIC PERKSOwnership and empowerment: Take charge of your role and contribute to innovative solutionsA Skilled Team: Work with highly skilled professionals in a collaborative environmentCareer Growth: shape your career while helping guide the strategic direction of the companyWorkplace Flexibility: We value work life balance and offer a fun, flexible and supportive team cultureRegular Socials & Team Building: Enjoy social events like cocktail-making and Friday afternoon chips (a great way to wind down the week!)Employee Assistance ProgramBirthday day off!What We Can Offer YouBe part of team responsible for a change management project as the business transitions to a new ERP system.
