Job DetailsDescriptionCornell College invites applications for a full-time Assistant/Associate Director, Employer Relations & Experiential Learning. The position manages an innovative menu of programs, services, and networks that enable students to explore, refine, and advance their academic, personal, and vocational interests and successfully transition into employment, graduate school, or postgraduate service.DutiesEmployer Development: Develops a comprehensive employer partner outreach program which includes further identification of target markets/employers, marketing initiatives, and creation of measurable deliverables to ensure experiential and full-time employment opportunities are available to all seeking students. Coordinates and participates in employer visits to campus and student trips to employer sites.Student Advising: Conducts one-on-one and group advising and counseling of students to ensure career and graduate school readiness. Advising primarily includes: resume review and cover letters, mock interviews, introduction to networking, internship and full-time search process, and graduate school resources and preparation. Distinguished Alumni: Administers Beta Omicron Distinguished Alumni Visitors Program to engage students in formal and informal interactions with distinguished alumni, including course visits, meals, and public lectures. Collaborate with ACA colleagues for donor stewardship to maintain positive relationships.Leadership Development Program Administration: Work with Berry Career Institute leadership, alumni partners and donors, guest speakers, and students to coordinate the master schedule, events, workshops, and annual career tour for the LEADS Program. Procures and serves as the main contact for consultant(s) delivering LEADS workshops. Recruit students, manage the application process, and track event participation. Serve as a primary resource to accompany students to activities as needed.Life Design Career Course: Serve as one of two instructors to create and deliver a Life Design adjunct course. Plan content, create lecture materials, obtain guest speakers, and assist with course grading.Internship Development and Administration: Primary responsibility for site recruiting and development, selection process, and assisting the Director with the development of a comprehensive internship program for students. Collaborates with the Associate Director of Experiential Learning & Career Coaching in advising students on the application process and funding, reviewing application materials, recommending funding amounts to the internship committee based on budget, notifying students of the decision, and ensuring students are meeting internship requirements.Ingenuity in Action Support & Technology: Serves alongside other BCI InAct committee members; responds to InAct questions via e-mail and in person, and assists with the InAct database. Serves as in-house employer/job board software (Handshake) expert responsible for data collection and marketing. Compile data as requested and investigate vendor software as appropriate. A master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Development, Counseling, or another area relevant to student engagement in learning is preferred. Previous experience with career development and work in a college setting is preferred.Preferred SkillsAn appreciation for experiential education and a commitment to the values and mission of a liberal arts education. Excellent interpersonal skills and an enthusiasm for creative endeavors. Effective skills in organization, prioritization, communication, program development and marketing. Cornell College offers a fantastic benefits package that includes health, dental, vision, HSA & FSA accounts, a TIAA 403(b) retirement account, and tuition remission and exchange for employees and dependents.
