Our manufacturing client, a leader in their industry, is seeking a skilled Assistant Buyer to join their team for a 3-month contract with the possibility of extension. As part of a close-knit team of 2 within a department of 12, you'll play a key role in supporting the buying process and ensuring seamless operationsRequired Skills and Qualifications:Previous experience in Purchase Order (PO) management is a strong asset, with ERP system experience being a plus. Buying experience is also beneficial but not mandatory.Ability to learn new software and systems quickly, with a strong foundation in administrative tasks and tech-savvinessKeen attention to detail and accuracy in managing POs, invoices, and other documentsStrong English communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholdersAbility to work independently, take initiative, and adapt to changing priorities and tasksDuties may include, but are not limited to: Expedite purchase orders and proactively manage supplier fulfillment issues with stakeholdersCreate, manage, and maintain accurate purchase orders and recordsEnsure compliance with Supply Chain standard procedures and contract commitmentsEvaluate vendor performance, including shipping schedules and delivery timelinesRespond to materials status requests from Operations, Customer Service, and EngineeringReview purchase requisitions for accuracy and completenessKeep stakeholders informed of purchase order status updatesCollaborate with Buyers, Customer Service, and Finance to resolve issues and manage product returnsDevelop and implement resolution and recovery plans for delivery delaysGenerate timely department reports and maintain organized recordsPerform other tasks as assignedThe starting wage for this position ranges between $28.00 - $32.00 per hour, depending on experience, skills and credentials.Schedule: Monday to Friday – 8:30am to 4:30pmIf you are interested and believe you meet the specified qualifications, please reply to this ad with your Resume.We thank all applicants for their interest in Express Employment Professionals; however, only those candidates selected for interviews will be contacted.Express Employment Professionals is an equal opportunity employer.
