Job Title: Assistant Contract ManagerLocation: Sardar Group- BaghdadAbout the Job:The Assistant Contracts Manager will serve as the primary responsible person for all contractual and commercial matters within the Central and South regions. This role will act in a full managerial capacity to oversee contract administration, ensure compliance with contractual terms and governmental regulations, manage risks, and ensure that contractual terms are aligned with SG company policies and legal standards.Main duties & responsibilities:Manage and oversee all contractual activities within the Central and South regions.Review, draft, and negotiate contract terms and conditions with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.Maintain organized records of all contract-related correspondence and documentation.Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, company policies, and applicable laws.Coordinate with legal and procurement teams to ensure contractual terms are consistent with SG company objectives.Manage the execution of contracts to ensure the proper implementation of contractual terms.Identify and assess contractual and commercial risks.Ensure adherence to company governance, ethical standards, and legal frameworks.Monitor and report on potential contractual exposures and disputes.Act as the main contractual point of contact for all projects within the Central and South regions.Liaise with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure clear communication and proper documentation.Provide contractual guidance to related personnel and departments when required.Prepare periodic reports on contractual status, variations, claims, and risks.Maintain proper tracking of all contract deliverables, deadlines, and obligations.Support management with analysis and recommendations on contractual matters.Required Qualification:Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Contract Management, or a related field.A Master’s degree or professional certification in Contracts, Procurement, or Legal Studies is an added advantage.3–5 years of experience in contract management, legal administration, or commercial contracting.Hands-on experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts (e.g., sales, procurement, rental, service agreements, government-related contracts).Experience dealing with governmental entities, regulatory requirements, and compliance procedures is highly preferred.Fluent English and Arabic (written and verbal).Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Strong knowledge of contract law, commercial terms, and legal formalities.Excellent negotiation and communication skills.Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical conduct.Strong organizational and follow-up skills.Problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.Team-oriented, with the ability to collaborate with legal, procurement, finance, and operations teams.
