ROLE PURPOSETo provide legal advice and general legal support to Glory Global Solutions Asia Pacific region in all corporate and commercial matters, identifying and arranging appropriate local legal support, either internally or externally. Supporting the General Counsel, Asia Pacific (based in Mumbai, India) and external lawyers to support top-line growth and bottom-line efficiencies within the expanding Asia Pacific region. Supporting the Regional Head, Regional FD and Group General Counsel in reviewing and advising on strategic and business initiatives to ensure legal compliance and best in class offerings to the market.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESManaging drafting, evaluation & negotiation through to execution of a variety of commercial agreements, review of customer proposed terms and conditions working closely with the Asia Pacific country teams and Group General Counsel to provide comprehensive legal support across the region. Support local and group management to ensure company products and services are offered with appropriate, competitive terms and conditions.Serves as the legal point of contact for internal and external customers on contractual matters, ensuring timely review and approval / reconciliation of variations. Maintain contractual records and documentation such as receipt and control of all contract correspondence, customer contact information sheets, contractual changes, status reports and other documents for all projects.Train employees as required on core governance and compliance matters, procedures, group policies and initiatives and legal compliance.Monitor compliance by company employees with established procedures to identify areas of recurrent pressure or friction for improvement opportunities.Work with Finance teams to ensure adherence to broader finance and risk requirements such as revenue recognition, pricing and discounting policies, export controls etc.Ensure that signed contracts are communicated to all relevant parties to provide contract visibility and awareness, interpretation to support implementation.Handle on-going issue and change management, monitor transaction compliance (milestones, deliverables, invoicing etc) and support contract close-out, extension or renewal.Perform pre-litigation work to minimize risks and maximize legal rights, consulting with external counsel on behalf of the business where required.Manage various projects and deadlines, advise Regional leadership on contract status, legal risks and business terms of key projects and customer transactions.Provide assistance with strategic partnership deals, and mergers and acquisitions.Research unique legal issues impacting the organization by identifying applicable statutes, judicial decisions, and codes. Keep abreast of legislative changes that may affect the Region and its affiliates.REQUIRED EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONSEducation Level:Have solid international experience and a broad understanding of all aspects of commercial law, including software, hardware, SaaS and IT services and procurement contracts.Excellent written and spoken communication skills, proven ability to manage external counsel and internal clients.Strong commercial awareness and the ability to deal with problems in a pragmatic and logical wayAbility to lead, take responsibility and act autonomously including an ability to take difficult decisions and provide substantiated arguments.Qualifications: Locally qualified lawyer with minimum 5 years PQE experience from major firms / brands and relevant company experience.REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills. Fluency in English is essential, another language and ideally Mandarin would be an advantage.Have excellent negotiation skills, a good attention to detail and proven drafting ability.Confident and articulate with strong commercial instincts and the ability to work within a competitively challenging environment.Able to develop solutions to complex legal questions and to work under pressure and deliver resultsHighly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.Collaborative and pro-active in style.
