Sumathi Holdings, a leading conglomerate in Sri Lanka with a diversified portfolio of businesses, is seeking a highly experienced and results-driven professional to join our team as the Assistant Manager – Tax. Our subsidiaries operate across multiple sectors, contributing to the Group’s continued growth and success. We are looking for a dynamic individual with strong technical expertise and strategic insight to manage the Group’s overall tax functions, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and optimization of all tax-related activities across subsidiaries.Duties and Responsibilities:Oversee the Group’s direct and indirect tax matters, including income tax, VAT, NBT, and other statutory obligations, ensuring full compliance with prevailing regulations.Manage and review tax computations, returns, and payments for all entities within the Group in line with Inland Revenue and other statutory deadlines.Liaise with external auditors, consultants, and tax authorities to resolve tax-related queries, assessments, and audits efficiently and effectively.Provide expert tax advisory support for business transactions, restructures, and new ventures to ensure compliance and optimal tax positioning.Continuously monitor changes in tax laws and regulations, analyze their impact on the Group, and proactively implement necessary adjustments to policies and procedures.Develop and maintain robust internal tax control processes and documentation to ensure accuracy, consistency, and risk mitigation across all business units.Partner with Finance and senior leadership teams to support strategic decision-making through tax planning, forecasting, and scenario analysis.The Ideal Candidate Should Possess:Postgraduate qualification in Taxation is essential; Possessing a professional qualification such as CA will be an added advantage.Minimum of 3 years of experience in tax management, including at least 2 years experience in a reputed tax consulting firm.In-depth knowledge of Sri Lankan tax laws, IFRS standards, and current regulatory frameworks.Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills with a proactive and solution-oriented approach.What We Offer:A dynamic and collaborative working environment within one of Sri Lanka’s most respected business groups.Opportunities for professional growth, exposure to diversified industries, and continuous learning.Competitive remuneration package with performance-based incentives and comprehensive benefits.The chance to play a key strategic role in shaping the Group’s tax governance and financial compliance framework.
