ASSISTANT MANAGER OF OPERATIONSSalary: $121,753 per year1.0 FTE PermanentThe Simcoe County District School Board is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Manager of Operations for the Facility Services Department. Reporting to the Manager of Operations, the Assistant Manager will be responsible for: assisting with all functions relating to staffing; coordinating professional development and training programs; assisting the Manager with monitoring budgets; coordinating the acquisition and evaluations of Operations' supplies, equipment and uniforms; responding to concerns and inquiries relating to custodial and general maintenance services; monitoring the efficiency of general maintenance work order completions; and overseeing the alarm response and pest control contracts for all SCDSB facilities.Qualifications And Skills RequiredUniversity degree or three (3) year college diploma, preferably in Business Administration or related discipline;More than five (5) years of supervisory/management experience or training in a unionized environment, preferably in an educational environment;High level of communication, management and leadership skills;Excellent interpersonal skills exhibiting confidentiality, diplomacy, conflict resolution and problem solving skills;Excellent organizational and time management skills;Working knowledge of and the ability to ensure compliance with board policies and procedures, collective agreements, WHMIS, WSIB, Building Code, Labour Relations, Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Fire Code;Demonstrated ability to negotiate with suppliers and service providers, and work within established budgets;Demonstrated experience with and strong working knowledge of custodial methods, supplies and equipment, general maintenance practices, building operations systems, and training of adult learners;Advanced computer literacy and ability to work with a variety of computer software programs, such as O365, SharePoint, OneDrive, MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher and Apply to Education are required. Working knowledge of the DirectLine Maintenance Work Order System, eBASE, and absence reporting software is preferred;The successful candidate must possess a valid driver's licence- class G or greater and be available 24/7;The nature of this position will require the successful candidate to travel within a large geographical area.Testing May Be Required During The Selection ProcessThis position works twelve (12) months of the year. The compensation for this twelve (12) month position is $121,753 per year.
