(delete if not applicable)PURPOSE OF THE ROLEThe TV Social Edit Hub is looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious Junior Editor to join our team for 3 months, to help craft a range of supporting social content for BBC iPlayer programmes. The Edit Hub creates innovative, reactive content designed to engage young audiences across social platforms, supporting BBC iPlayer titles with clips, cutdowns, compilations, and original content for TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook. You will take ownership of edits from start to finish, collaborate with producers and campaign teams, and bring fresh ideas to enhance audience engagement.Your Key Responsibilities And ImpactAs an Assistant Post-Production Editor, you’ll be part of a collaborative team based in Birmingham, creating social edits that amplify BBC shows and connect with new audiences.Your Responsibilities Will IncludeEditing clips, cutdowns, and bespoke social-first content using Adobe Premiere ProFormatting and optimising content for TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, and FacebookWorking across a range of genres – from Entertainment and Reality to DocumentariesEnsuring content meets editorial and compliance standards, working closely with producers and stakeholdersEssential CriteriaYOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Has good experience with Adobe Premiere Pro and some evidence of creating content for social platforms Understands how young audiences engage with social platforms, especially TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram Has a keen editorial eye and storytelling instincts tailored for social formats Is confident juggling multiple tasks and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environmentA passion for content that speaks to young audiences is essential.
