Clemson University: College of Architecture, Art and Construction: Nieri Department of Construction and Real Estate DevelopmentLocationLee 1 & 2Open DateNov 07, 2025DescriptionThe Nieri Department of Construction and Real Estate Development (NCRED) in the College of Architecture, Art and Construction (CAAC) at Clemson University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position with the anticipated start date of August 1, 2026.The Successful Candidate Will Develop and sustain a rigorous, externally funded research program in areas that support and advance the mission of the department and the broader built environment. Preferred research areas include, but are not limited to: *Structural systems and design integration *Materials science and building material technologies *3D printing and additive manufacturing in construction *Virtual and augmented reality applications for construction *Emerging construction technologies Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the Construction Science and Management (CSM) curriculum Contribute to department, college, university, and external service activities Engage with industry and professional communities to support outreach and collaboration.Qualifications A Ph.D. in Construction Science and Management, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a closely related discipline (completed by August 15, 2026) Evidence of the potential to develop a strong research agenda with peer-reviewed publications and future funding Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the core Construction Management curriculum Commitment to excellence in teaching, student mentoring, and service Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated experience or research in one or more of the department’s priority areas: analysis and design of structural systems, materials science, 3D printing, VR/AR, and building materials Prior teaching experience at the university level Industry experience in construction or related fieldsApplication InstructionsInterested candidates should submit the following application materials to Interfolio:https://apply.interfolio.com/177358 Cover letter addressing qualifications and interest in the position Curriculum vitae Statement of research interests and future research agenda Statement of teaching philosophy and experience Names and contact information for three professional referencesFor full consideration, applications must be received by December 5, 2025, but will continue to be accepted until a suitable candidate is identified for the position.
