Below covers everything you need to know about what this opportunity entails, as well as what is expected from applicants.Dartford, Kent£30,000 – £40,000 + PackageMain Contractor | New Build Projects | Career ProgressionHill McGlynn are working closely with a well-established regional main contractor to recruit an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in Dartford.With a strong pipeline of secured work across education, healthcare, residential and commercial new build projects, this is a great opportunity for an AQS looking to develop their career in a structured, supportive environment.The RoleYou’ll work alongside experienced Quantity Surveyors and Project Managers on multiple live and pre-construction schemes, gaining hands-on exposure to all stages of the commercial process.Key Responsibilities Assisting in the preparation of budgets, cost plans and tender submissions Helping to procure and manage subcontractor packages Supporting the valuation and variation process Maintaining accurate project cost records and reports Attending site meetings and liaising with site teams Ensuring commercial processes and procedures are followedIdeal Candidate 1–3 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying or commercial construction role Experience with a Tier 1 or reputable regional main contractor preferred Strong understanding of construction processes and contracts (e.g. JCT) Relevant degree or working towards qualification (e.g. Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management) Strong communication and organisational skills Eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced construction environmentWhat’s On Offer Salary between £30,000 – £40,000, depending on experience Full benefits package including pension, mileage/travel, and professional development support Ongoing training with a view to progressing to Quantity Surveyor Exposure to varied, high-quality new build projects across the region A stable, respected contractor with a strong order book and local presenceApply TodayIf you're an Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking to build your career with a reputable and supportive contractor, we want to hear from you.
