They will assist the Safety Officer to ensure all daily operational and maintenance activities are carried out according to Management System requirements.AuthorityThe Assistant Safety Officer acts under the authority of the Safety Officer and has the authority to stop or question any unsafe act by following procedures and direct positive action as described by STOP.Immediate SubordinatesVisitors, Sub Contractors, Vendors and similar.Accountable For: Responsibilities & StandardsSee GEMS for Role Typical Responsibilities & standardsRecruitment Only-Generic Functional CompetenciesOffshore - Control of Substances Hazardous to HealthOffshore - Hearing ConservationOffshore - HandoverOffshore - Helicopter AdministrationOffshore - Environmental Management SystemOffshore - Planning WorkOffshore - SOLASOffshore - Safety ManagementOffshore - On Scene CommanderOffshore - Helicopter OperationsPre-hire Qualifications And ExperienceDiploma in engineering, environmental science, occupational health and safety or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in HSE onshore or offshore in the oil and gas industry. Experience with international HSSE regulations and standards, including ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001/45001 Experience in servicing/maintaining Fire Fighting Equipment (FFE) and Lifesaving Appliances (LSA). Experience of helicopter operations. Experience of control and monitoring of all hazardous maintenance activities including hot work and confined space entry. NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or regional equivalent Offshore Emergency Response training may be expected for role (Fire-Team, First Aid). Considered a plus for hiring. Proficiency in English at a minimum of B1 level according to the CEFR international standard.
