To act as the management representative for quality management, continuous improvement, and occupational health safety related to the engineering aspects of the facilities. The core purpose of this position is to perform maintenance on buildings and equipment to ensure that assets are upheld to their original state.KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREASOversee the management and maintenance of building, plant and equipmentManage and support technical projects within the HospitalManage and mitigate Technical Operations risk within the HospitalOversee and manage on-site contractors/suppliers in the HospitalEnsure quality management and continuous improvement within Technical OperationsTo manage stakeholder relations and client service within the technical environment at MediclinicLead and manage the people in the technical teamManage and control department budget/financesRequired EducationESSENTIAL EDUCATIONNQF level 6 Engineering qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with Thermodynamics and Electro Technology passed at 2nd-year level.DESIRED EDUCATIONn/aEssential CertificationValid driver’s license and own reliable transportDESIRED CERTIFICATIONn/aRequired ExperienceESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCEMinimum 4 years’ of post-graduate engineering experience with HVAC and auxiliary electrical power supplies exposure.Desired ExperienceExperience within a facility management environmentRequired Job Skills And KnowledgeTechnical Plant Operations and Building MaintenancePeople ManagementGood knowledge and experience in financial management and budgeting principles.Project ManagementCompetent person as defined in paragraphs (b), (c), or (d) as per General Machinery Regulations of 1988 (OHS Act 85 of 1993) [South Africa only]Quality ManagementPreventative maintenanceFault finding and troubleshootingReport writing & communication verbal and writtenOperational Standards e.g. LEAN principlesUse of mechanical tools and machineryComputer Skills (MS Office suite)
