Assistant Vice President, Strategic Initiatives (Investments)

IntroductionStrategic Initiatives (“SI”)SI focuses on identifying and investing in strategic opportunities to expand Temasek’s reach, influence and franchise value, while generating long-term compounding returns. It explores strategic investments, partnerships, joint ventures, and collaborations to strengthen Temasek’s franchise value, differentiate and position Temasek favourably in the market, and execute high-impact opportunities that align with Temasek’s long-term vision. It works closely across the key teams in Temasek, including, Temasek Global Investments (TGI), Temasek Singapore (TSG) and Temasek Partnership Solutions (TPS), to deploy catalytic capital that have the potential to move the needle or create value.ResponsibilitiesLead and support workstreams (e.g. investments, new strategies and grow areas, strategic value creation opportunities) within strategic initiatives and across key teams in TemasekCoordinating and supporting project teams comprising members from multiple functional teams and stakeholder groups.Performing deal evaluation, due diligence, industry/company analysis, financial modeling, legal documentation and negotiation, and preparing necessary materials (e.g. slides and memos) for recommendation to investment committeeSupport post investment portfolio management of SI investments and assets (e.g. portfolio performance monitoring, value creation, cross-pollination, etc.)RequirementsAt least 6 years of experience in investment or consulting rolesGood interpersonal skills and intellectual capacityStrong thought leadership, mental agility, curiosity and initiativeStrong presentation slide writing skills and technical skills (e.g. financial modeling)
