SummaryLOCATION: Schaftenau, AustriaROLE TYPE: Hybrid Working,As Associate Director, Analytical Operations Austria, you foster collaboration and leadership by guiding a growing team of approx. 15 Analytical Experts in technical, scientific, and project management aspects, thereby enabling the release of clinical material, conducting stability studies, and supporting submissions. You are actively involved in the local Analytical Operations leadership team that drives the implementation of the new site strategy for Analytical Operations, thereby shaping its strategic direction and drive operational excellence in line with Technical Research & Development (R&D) vision and strategy. You actively manage stakeholder interfaces and support team members in their professional growth through mentoring, coaching, and providing opportunities for development.About The RoleMajor accountabilities: Your Key Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited ToYou will lead an Analytical Expert Team in Analytical Operations Austria at our Technical R&D (TRD) Biologics site in Schaftenau, dealing with Late-Phase projects from clinical phase to launch.Operational manager for approx. 15 associatesCollaboration and Leadership: Foster inspiration and guide team in technical, scientific and project management aspectsActively engage with stakeholders as well as with analytical laboratories and pursue excellent relationships with other departmentsAnalytical strategy: Oversee technical and scientific analytical strategy for associated Late-Phase projects and assure accurate demand and capacity planningPortfolio support: Assure project support with needed flexibility and in alignment with global portfolio needsRegulatory Compliance: Ensure GMP compliance & high-quality documentation for the release of clinical material, stability studies and submissionsPeople Development: Support team members in their professional growth, both scientifically and in project management, through mentoring, coaching, and providing opportunities for developmentProactively identify and resolve conflict situations, drive cultural evolution and change managementWhat You’ll Bring To The RoleLeadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and inspire a team of scientists, with a focus on achieving team and organizational goalsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of the organizationTechnical and Scientific Expertise: Strong experience in biotechnological Chemistry Manufacturing Control (CMC) development and strong understanding of analytical methods, techniques and instruments, as well as Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) regulations and guidelinesPeople Development: Commitment to the growth and development of team members, with a track record of successful mentoring and coachingStrong problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindsetDesirable RequirementsUniversity degree (PhD or equivalent is desirable) in life sciencesMinimum of 10 years of proven experience in the pharmaceutical industryMinimum of 5 years in a leadership position with successful performance and track record of leading teamsYou’ll ReceiveYou can find everything you need to know about our benefits and rewards in the Novartis Life Handbook. https://www.novartis.com/careers/benefits-rewardsIn addition to a market-competitive base salary, we offer an attractive incentive program, a modern company pension scheme, childcare facilities, learning and development opportunities as well as worldwide career possibilities within the Novartis group.
