We work on the frontline of medical science, changing lives, and bringing new medicines to those who need them.Job DescriptionOur global Process Improvement Department requires an Ontologist to fill the role of Associate, Process Improvement within the Knowledge Management team.As an Associate, Process Improvement at PSI you will be responsible for the following functions:Develop and maintain ontologies for various domains, ensuring accuracy and consistency.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize ontology needs.Conduct research and analysis to identify relevant data sources and extract meaningful insights.Design and implement ontology-based applications and tools to support data integration and analysisEvaluate and recommend ontology management tools and technologiesDevelop and maintain documentation and training materials for ontology usersCollaborate with data scientists and engineers to ensure ontology alignment with data models and structuresConduct quality assurance checks to ensure ontology accuracy and completenessContinuously improve ontology development processes and methodologies.QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Linguistics, Library Science, Cognitive Science, or a related fieldMinimum 2 years of hands-on experience in software developmentBasic programming skills (e.g., Python, Java, AQL, SQL or SPARQL) and understanding of data modelling and taxonomiesExperience in ontological developmentExperience in data modeling or related analytical skillsStrong written and verbal communication skills in EnglishAbility to work with cross-functional teams and analyze complex informationExperience in RDF (OWL), SPARQL, Protégé and graph databases such as ArangoDB, Allegrograph, Neo4j, MongoDBAdaptability, attention to detail, and passion for representing knowledgeAdditional InformationWhat We Offer:Stable, full-time position within the core PSI teamHybrid or remote work for flexibility and work-life balanceCompetitive compensation and benefits aligned with your experiencePersonalized career development and growth opportunitiesSupportive colleagues and a culture of mutual respectContinuous learning through on-the-job training and knowledge sharingModern, comfortable office space for any of our employees that are not home-basedMake the right call and take your career to a whole new level.
