Who We WantThe ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of related professional experience and a diploma or degree in business, English, journalism, public relations, communications or related field.Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; have the ability to multi-task, meet deadlines under pressure and work independently; possess strong writing skills; and have a collaborative work style.The Associate is expected to:Media Relations:Provide media support, coordinate logistics and assist with media material creation and outreach.Monitor and track client, competitor, industry and cultural news and share with team.Support live events/meetings with logistics coordination and provide on-site support.Craft and edit on-message content.Spot opportunities, glean insights and brainstorm action plans.Begin building relationships with media contacts/outlets/influencersMessaging and Positioning:Understand and execute messaging specific to client needs.Understand what content will drive coverage and conversations, develop relevant narratives and media pitchesMaintain a basic understanding of all media competencies including messaging, strategy, outreach, integrations, events and content placement. Planning and Execution:Create basic communications plans with direction.Manage projects and deliverables to brief, and on time.Help track and maintain media results reporting.Actively listen to instructions and demonstrate an understanding of assignment expectations (timing and deliverables).Work well under pressure, remaining calm and professional.Act as the brand guardian for client in discussions with content/creative/production teams and 3rd party suppliersUse tools in digital and social media marketing to plan, manage and measure campaigns.Teamwork:Support day-to-day media outreach.Attend client and team meetings and take detailed notes, circulating those to internal team members after the meeting.Willingly accept new and challenging assignments and career opportunities.What You NeedCritical thinking, curiosityContribute ideas to media plans.Research and develop relationships with media and influencers.Help create compelling media experiences.Immerse self in client industries, brands and digital landscape.Problem-solving skillsStrong project management skillsAbility to identify, manage and resolve issuesGoal-oriented, ‘can-do’ attitudeStrong communication skills – written and verbalMeticulous and detail-oriented, yet able to work fastAble to think out of the box and willing to consider strategies and concepts beyond traditional PR tactics.
