We are responsible for managing existing journals, launching new journals and acquiring new society contracts to ensure annual growth and customer satisfaction. We take a strategic approach to deliver for our various audiences: authors, editors, researchers, societies and academia.About The RoleYou will have responsibility for a portfolio of journals in materials science. You will work on related projects and initiatives that help deliver innovation and growth to our organization. You will build successful partnerships with individuals and institutions to develop mutually beneficial long-term collaboration.ResponsibilitiesDeveloping the strategy for our portfolio to maintain growth and create ideas for new journals to launchCollaborating closely with other Publishers in the Materials Science team whose journals overlap or complement the scope of your journals.Establishing networks with key external and internal stakeholders, in order to manage and develop the portfolio successfullyEngaging with cross-functional teams, stakeholders and customers to deliver innovative journal solutionsWorking with editors, authors, editorial boards and the wider academic community to ensure copy flow of relevant, high-quality manuscriptsMonitoring continuous quality control and all aspects of day-to-day editorial, production and publishing operations and effectually addressing improvements where requiredMeeting portfolio objectives regarding content growth, articles market share, citation share, relative impact factor, editorial speeds, author and editor satisfactionRequirementsHave an in-depth educational background and keen interest in academic publishingHave demonstrable experience within an Academic or Research environmentHave excellent English proficiency, both written and oral, and experience communicating across international boundaries.Be a natural communicator with an ability to engage and influence cross-functional teams and external teamsShow the ability to be a self-starter and flexible to adapt to changing prioritiesEnjoy collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver successful initiativesBe able to build relationships with stakeholders, teams and our communityBe able to identify and understand market needs for potential business opportunitiesHave an entrepreneurial spirit and enjoy discovering new technologies and online developmentsWork In a Way That Works For YouWe promote a healthy work/life balance across the organisation.
