X96529 Athletic Training, TahlequahJob SummaryThis position provides all aspects of athletic training and sports medicine.MAJOR DUTIESProvide treatment for student-athletes and appropriate communication to head coaches regarding treatments.Oversee sport practice sessions and provide routine and emergency treatment as necessary.Perform administrative duties for the athletic training program including, but not limited to: recruiting and supervising student trainers and interns, scheduling appointments with physicians and specialists, and risk management.Serve as the NCAA Health Care Co-Administrator.Instruct student-athletes, coaches and staff on athletic training policies, procedures and best practices to create and maintain a safe environment.Performs other related duties as assigned.Knowledge Required By The PositionKnowledge of accessing injuries, treatment, care and rehabilitation.Skill in use of athletic training and rehabilitation machines and equipment.Skill in computer, multi-functioning devices (copy, scan and fax).SUPERVISORY CONTROLSThe supervisor assigns work in terms of general instructions. The supervisor spot-checks completed work for compliance with procedures, accuracy, and the nature and propriety of the final results.GUIDELINESGuidelines include department and university policies and procedures. These guidelines are generally clear and specific, but may require some interpretation in application.COMPLEXITY/SCOPE OF WORKThe work consists of a variation of duties requiring different and unrelated processes and methods. Frequent interruptions contribute to the complexity of the position.The purpose of this position is to provide athletic training to university student athletes for the university.Success in this position contributes to the efficiency, effectiveness, and safety of those operations and impacted employees and students.CONTACTSContacts are typically with co-workers, other internal university personnel, students, faculty, members of the general public and medical physicians.Contacts are typically to provide services, to give or exchange information, or to resolve problems. PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENTThe work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or while intermittently sitting, bending, kneeling, standing, or stooping. The employee occasionally lifts both light to heavy objects up to 50 pounds.The work is typically performed in an office, gymnasium and outdoors in sports complexes during cold and hot temperatures as well as in inclement weather. The position will need to work evenings, weekends, and many holidays and will include travel.SUPERVISORY AND MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITYThis position has direct supervision over assigned personnel which includes student trainers and interns.Minimum QualificationsKnowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of National AthleticTrainer’s Association Board of Certification.State of Oklahoma Athletic Trainer License required or eligible.Master’s degree required unless legally grandfathered in due to experience.Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the work of subordinate positions to be able to answer questions and resolve problems, usually associated with three to five years’ experience or service.Preferred QualificationsSalary commensurate with experience, excellent benefits including generous leave time.Anticipated hire date: 12/1/2025Applications will be accepted until: 11/10/2025NOTE: Posting will close to applicants at 11:59 p.m., CST, on the date above.
