Automation Engineer

Job SummaryThe Automation Engineer will design, develop, and implement automated systems to improve manufacturing and quality processes. Working closely with R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing teams, this role identifies automation opportunities, integrates new technologies, and drives continuous improvement.This position requires being on-site in Portsmouth NH daily. Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement automated manufacturing and QA systems.Develop and maintain PLC, SCADA, and HMI control systems.Write, test, and debug automation software.Integrate robotic systems and collaborate with vendors on automation solutions.Ensure compliance with cGMP and industry standards.Conduct risk assessments and provide technical support and training.Continuously improve automation performance and efficiency.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Automation, or related field.3+ years of automation engineering experience (pharma/biotech preferred).Proficiency in Python, C++, and ladder logic.Experience with PLCs, SCADA, HMI, and robotics.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.PreferredLean Six Sigma experience.Familiarity with MES, IoT, and cloud-based automation.Knowledge of machine learning or computer vision.Project management experience.
