Autonomy (Target Tracking) - Senior Software Engineer

About The RoleWe’re hiring a Senior Software Engineer to lead development of our target tracking subsystem — a foundational component of our autonomy stack that fuses sensor data into coherent, actionable estimates of dynamic tracks in the world. You will design and implement tracking algorithms that operate reliably in complex, uncertain, and adversarial environments.If you're excited about turning noisy, asynchronous sensor inputs into high-confidence world models for planning and decision-making, this role is for you.In this role, you will get toArchitect and implement real-time tracking pipelines that fuse data from radar, cameras, and IMUs to track dynamic objects. Design and optimize multi-target tracking algorithms (e.g., Kalman filters, JPDA, MHT, PHD filters, or learning-based trackers). Collaborate with perception and planning teams to ensure accurate, low-latency estimates of object position, velocity, identity, and intent. Evaluate performance across synthetic and real-world datasets, and improve tracking robustness under occlusion, clutter, and degraded sensing. Build tools for debugging, visualization, introspection, and benchmarking of tracking systems in both simulation and live deployments. Must Have ExperienceStrong programming skills in C++ and Python, with a focus on performance and reliability in real-time systems. Deep understanding of state estimation, Bayesian filtering, and multi-sensor data fusion techniques. Experience with tracking algorithms such as extended/unscented Kalman filters, particle filters, or multi-hypothesis tracking. Background in robotics, autonomous systems, or embedded sensor platforms, with demonstrated success in deployed applications. Strong debugging and systems-level reasoning skills, especially under conditions of sensor dropout, noise, or ambiguous association. Experience with real-world data collection, analysis, and iterative model improvement. Exposure to open-world tracking challenges, such as birth/death modeling, ID switches, or false positives. Nice To Have ExperienceFamiliarity with object detection and classification pipelines, and integrating perception outputs into trackers. Experience with sensor synchronization and timestamp alignment across distributed systems. Knowledge of deep learning-based tracking or trajectory prediction approaches for dynamic agents. Experience with ROS/ROS2, and integrating tracking modules within autonomy frameworks. About DelianWe live under a new world order.
