Autonomy Validation Engineer

Canus Tech is seeking a hands-on Autonomy Validation Engineer to support validation and testing of large autonomous heavy-equipment systems.The role involves field-based testing, troubleshooting, and data analysis in a rugged outdoor environment. Ideal candidates are passionate about autonomous systems and enjoy working directly with machines in real-world conditions.Key ResponsibilitiesTesting & Validation (Approx. 50%)Plan, organize, and execute machine tests for autonomous vehicle systems in field conditionsCoordinate test activities with operators and engineering teamsTroubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and software issues during testsDocument issues and support root-cause analysis Office & Data Analysis (Approx. 50%)Collaborate with software development and system engineering teams to review test resultsUpdate and maintain test plans, procedures, and validation documentationPerform data extraction, visualization, and analysis to support system performance evaluationParticipate in customer demonstrations and gather end-user feedback Required Skills & QualificationsStrong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and software domainsHands-on testing or validation experience on vehicle or machine systemsWorking knowledge of Windows; familiarity with Linux/Ubuntu preferredAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentationExperience with data analysis tools (Python, Excel, MATLAB, or similar)Excellent problem-solving, time management, and communication skillsSelf-motivated with the ability to work independently on second shift and coordinate with global teams Preferred BackgroundsAutonomous systems R&D or validation (perception, planning, positioning)Automotive validation with on-vehicle testing exposureHeavy machinery or off-highway equipment experience (mining, construction, agriculture)Validation engineers with strong system-level exposure are encouraged to apply Candidate ProfileOpen to early-career and experienced engineers with the right attitude and aptitudeMust be enthusiastic about autonomous vehicle technology and field testing workPhysically fit to operate in outdoor environments and handle equipment safely Why Join Canus ResourcesWork on cutting-edge autonomous vehicle validation projects with industry leadersOpportunity to gain hands-on field experience and grow within the autonomy engineering domainSupportive project team environment with career development opportunities
