AWS Solutions Architect – Backend Architecture for Internal Sales ApplicationThis is an initial 12 month contract but is likely to extend. Operating in more than 120 countries, they are recognised for innovation and close partnership with construction professionals. Their large internal sales organisation is undertaking a major digital transformation to modernise how sales teams plan, manage and record their customer interactions.Product contextAll work in this role directly supports the development of a new internal Sales productivity application used by thousands of sales professionals worldwide. The app will streamline meeting planning, automate call-transcription insights, manage follow-up actions and enhance day-to-day workflow efficiency. The backend is being built on AWS and forms the core foundation for all application services.Role overviewWe are seeking an AWS Solutions Architect to lead backend architecture for this Sales application. Working within a dedicated scrum team, you will design the AWS services, integrations and system patterns that power the core business logic behind the app.Key responsibilitiesArchitect backend services for the Sales app using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/Fargate, EventBridge, S3, DynamoDB/RDS.Ensure global scalability and reliability for thousands of daily field users.Develop integration patterns between the AWS backend and other application layers including Azure AI and MS Fabric.Produce detailed architecture documentation for app features and workflows.Support POCs that enhance or extend backend capabilities.Implement strong security principles across all AWS services.Work closely with other architects to ensure alignment across the app’s multiple layers.Skills & experienceDeep experience designing large-scale systems on AWS.Strong background in serverless and microservices design.Experience building backend platforms used by large internal user groups.CI/CD and IaC experience beneficial.Understanding of CRM or sales-process platforms helpful.
