AWS System Administrator (Work from Home)

We are looking for a system administrator who is familiar with the AWS environment to build out, maintain, and troubleshoot our infrastructure. What is it that you'll do? You will be part of a talented team of engineers that demonstrate superb technical competency, delivering mission critical infrastructure and ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance and security. Qualified system administrators will have a background in IT, computer systems engineering, or systems engineering and analysis.ResponsibilitiesManage and monitor installed systems and infrastructureInstall, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management toolsProactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availabilityMonitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixesMaintain security, backup, and redundancy strategiesWrite and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasksParticipate in the design of information and operational support systemsEnsure that implemented systems are properly documentedProvide 2nd and 3rd level supportLiaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolutionRequirementsBS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subjectProven working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting UNIX/Linux based environmentsSolid experience in the administration and performance tuning of application stacks (e.g.,Tomcat, JBoss, Apache, Ruby, NGINX)Solid AWS experience, preferably with certificationsExperience with virtualization and containerization (e.g., VMware, Virtual Box) is an added advantageExperience with Git and automated deployment tools (e.g., Bamboo, Jenkins, Beanstalk, AWS CodePipeline, Codedeploy, etc.)Experience and understanding of Infrastructure as Code, Automation, and Orchestration including hands-on experience with CloudFormation Templates.
