Brief Job DescriptionAxxeum is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Site Manager to lead daily operations in support of HMLAT-303, the U. S. Marine Corps' premier light attack helicopter training squadron, located in Oceanside, CA.
The Site Manager will oversee all contractor personnel and maintenance support activities, ensure compliance with performance and safety standards, and serve as the primary liaison between Axxeum and Government representatives. This role requires a hands-on leader with a strong background in rotary-wing aircraft maintenance (preferably AH-1 and UH-1 platforms), team management, and contract execution in a military aviation environment. *This position is contingent upon contract award. *ResponsibilitiesServe as the on-site lead responsible for execution of the contract and PWS requirements, ensuring all deliverables and schedules are met. Supervise and coordinate all contractor personnel including mechanics, technicians, and support staff.
Ensure all maintenance operations are performed in accordance with NAVAIR, COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790. 2 series (NAMP), and applicable OEM and military standards. Act as the primary interface with the Government Contracting Officer Representative (COR), Quality Assurance, and Squadron leadership. Maintain readiness reporting, daily status briefs, safety metrics, and workforce scheduling. Enforce safety, security, and environmental compliance; ensure adherence to all OSHA, DoD, and Axxeum protocols. Support hiring, onboarding, training, and professional development of team personnel. Coordinate logistics, tool control, calibration program oversight, and parts accountability as required. Maintain a culture of continuous improvement and mission-focused performance.
RequirementsMinimum of 10 years of aviation maintenance experience, with 5+ years in a leadership or management role. Extensive knowledge of military rotary-wing platforms-preferably AH-1Z/UH-1Y or legacy H-1 models. Experience managing aviation contracts or maintenance teams in support of U. S. military operations. Proficient in NAMP compliance, maintenance data systems, and reporting protocols. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. S. Citizen with ability to obtain or maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications Or SkillsFAA Airframe & Powerplant License preferredGraduate work in Logistic Management desired/or equivalent military experience preferredExperience with the HMLAT-303 Fleet will be considered a highly valued qualificationQuality background with AS9110/4790. 2/8210Preferably AH-1Z/UH-1Y or legacy H-1 models. Physical RequirementsWork may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility to include but not limited to: bending, reaching, climbing, turning, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner.
There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distances may be required.
