Job OverviewUniversity Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is delighted to offer a fantastic opportunity to work with us.Please see below for detailed job description of the role.Main duties of the jobWe have received funding via NHSE to develop and pilot a high intensity, specialised MDT Hyper Acute Rehab pathway at University Hospital Southampton (UHS) led by a Rehab consultant and AHP Lead for patients with complex rehab needs following major trauma or illness.As part of this project, we have the exciting opportunity for a full AHP team to work together on a 12-month secondment at UHS within the Hyper Acute Rehab team. These posts can be full-time or part-time and are open to any of the following qualified professionals with robust B6 or B7 postgraduate knowledge and experience in acute neurorehabilitation.We are looking to recruit a team encompassing all 4 professions within these senior posts to enable full AHP assessment and treatment of this cohort of complex patients, with a variety of diagnoses, including neurological and orthopaedic needs. The team will be led by an 8a Clinical Specialist and as a B7 you will be expected to support them and deputise in their absence.The team will be part of the wider neurosciences service, with close links to all the neurosciences and relevant clinical teams. We welcome applicants of all backgrounds, identities, and experiences to join us in building a healthcare community where everyone can belong, thrive, and contribute.Detailed Job Description And Main ResponsibilitiesWe are looking for an experienced physiotherapist who is interested in working on an acute MDT pathway project, as a 12m fixed term or secondment, investigating the impact of acute intervention on the patient journey and if this changes their outcome, and/or reduces their hospital stay.You will provide advanced clinical skills in acute neuro-rehabilitation, working closely with the dedicated MDT to deliver high intensity, specialised hyper-acute rehabilitation (HAR) under the direction of a Rehabilitation Medicine consultant, for a moderate number of appropriate UHS patients. You will work alongside the B8a Clinical specialist AHP Lead and deputise in their absence.Essential SkillsPlease read the job description and person specification carefully and ensure you fulfil the criteria.
