Join us to make Legends happen!THE ROLE The Bartenders are responsible for positive guest interactions while accurately serving beverages to guests in a friendly and efficient manner.Essential FunctionsGreet guests, take beverage orders directly from guestsServe beer, wine and other bar beverages as ordered and in compliance with company standardsAbility to mix drinks on event days that require specific menuMaintain bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beveragesProvide information on wine characteristics, evaluate guests needs, make appropriate suggestions and serve wine using proper wine service techniquesCheck identification of guests to verify age requirements for purchase of alcoholHandle an assigned bank and follow all cash handling proceduresCollect payment for drinks served and balance all receiptsEnsure that the assigned bar area is fully equipped with tools and products needed for mixing beverages and serving guests, prepare inventory or purchase requisitions as needed to replenish suppliesServe food items to guests seated at the barDemonstrate a thorough knowledge of food and beverage products, menus and promotionsMaintain a clean working area by sweeping, dusting, cleaning of doors, etc. as neededProvide guidance to guests at Westfield Beer Garden inclusive of dining options and general New York City attraction informationKeep work area clean and organizedOrganize Catering Storage AreasAttend mandatory meetingsPerform general cleaning tasks to adhere to health and safety standards. Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above at the highest levels. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.Ability to work long hours and flexible shifts including: mornings, nights, weekends and holidaysExperience as a bartender for at least two yearsExtensive knowledge of beerMust be able to create and serve drinks in a timely mannerExtensive knowledge of winesMust maintain personal hygiene and a well-groomed appearance standardsAbility to work independently or in a team during set up and execution of serviceWillingness and drive to exceed the guest expectationsAbility to effectively listen and take direction from supervisorAbility to work in an open aired environment during all climate conditionsMust have excellent knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquetteMust be personable, friendly and welcomingAbility to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu itemsAbility to transport up to 50lbs on a continuous basisPractice safe work habits, follow all safety policies and procedures and regulations, complete company-wide safety training and additional job specific safety trainingCompensation$11.02/HourlyJOB TYPE: Part Time/SeasonalWORKING CONDITIONSLocation: On-site.
