We’re looking for a Batik Production Manager based in Sagamu to lead and streamline all aspects of our batik textile operations — ensuring efficiency, sustainability, and exceptional quality across every yard produced.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee all batik production, from dye preparation to finishing, ensuring quality and consistency.Manage and train artisans, fostering accountability, precision, and pride in their craft.Maintain rigorous quality control (QC) standards — nothing subpar leaves the studio.Design and refine systems for tracking production, budgets, materials, and timelines using spreadsheets or management tools.Coordinate fabric sourcing and purchases, knowing the brand’s preferred fabrics inside and out.Document all production activities — from fabric intake to finished goods — for transparency and analysis.Conduct research on global batik and textile dyeing methods, adapting the best ideas to fit Oya Abeo’s local context.Continuously explore how to make Nigerian batik production more sustainable, efficient, and future-ready.Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality — smarter vendor management, better material usage, streamlined workflows.Collaborate closely with the Lagos HQ on production planning, fabric delivery, and stock updates.RequirementsProven experience in textile, dye, or garment production management.Strong background in inventory and spreadsheet management (Excel/Google Sheets).Deep respect for craftsmanship, with a drive for innovation and efficiency.Excellent leadership and people-management skills.Analytical thinker with a love for systems, order, and measurable progress.Must be based in Sagamu or able to work on-site daily.Passionate about the future of batik in Nigeria — curious, resourceful, and unafraid to experiment.Ideal CandidateYou’re not just managing production — you’re helping shape the future of Nigerian batik.
