As a Behaviour Interventionist (BI) at Monarch House your primary responsibility is implementing programs designed and supervised by a senior clinical team (of speech pathologists, by a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst® BCBAs, Occupational therapists and physical therapists) to clients receiving services from Monarch House. You will work within an interdisciplinary team to support skill acquisition and/or decrease maladaptive behaviors while providing an engaging and positive client experience in a fast paced and frequently changing environment.Please note that we do not offer LMIA or independent contractor setup Work setup: Community-based in Central Calgary. Part-time.Salary: starting at $23.5 - 25 per hourSchedule: Monday, 4PM - 5:30PMTuesday, 5:30PM - 6:30PMWednesday, 6PM - 7:30PMThursday. 4PM - 7:30PMFriday, 1:30PM - 4:30PMTake an inside look at what you will do each day:Responsible for implementing programs based on best practicesUses systematic methods and behavioural strategies to support client in changing their behaviourContributes to the development of programs established by the clinical team to teach and reinforce a variety of skills for children and youth in a 1:1 and/or small group settingUnderstand the functions of behavior and responds appropriately and safely when situations ariseAdhere to all clinical training, procedures, and protocolsAbility to adapt to changing conditions and/or routine and provide creative solutionsResponsible for creating a positive and engaging environment for the clientSupport clients with personal care tasks such as dressing, toileting, and eatingResponsible for maintaining the well-being and safetyHere Is What You Will Need To Be Successful1-2 years experience working with children and youth with complex needs and/or developmental disabilitiesPursuing or completed education in Psychology, Speech or linguistics, occupational therapy or kinesiologyEducation and demonstrated ability in ethical and professional practiceClear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening within the last 6 monthsStrong verbal and written English communication skillsA valid driver's license (Class 5) and reliable vehicle for daily useLegally authorized to work in Canada Preferred QualificationsMinimum 1 year experience working in client homes is a plusEnrollment in or degree from a post-secondary program of Psychology, Educational Psychology, Special Education or another related field is an assetAutism Spectrum Disorder specific coursework, training or workshops an assetExperience working with clients who have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder or other developmental disabilitiesWhat Can Monarch House Offer YouWe are proud of our friendly environment, supportive leadership and the knowledgeable team members who make it all possible.
