Place of Work: Front DeskDivision: Front OfficeResponsible To: Front Office ManagerOverall Scope And ResponsibilityAssist guest upon arrival & departure time in a courteous and professional manner. Provide detailed information to guests regarding hotel services, hours of operation, local venues and area events. Assist front office as assign.Essential DutiesRetrieves guest items from cars, busses, vans and carts. Carries and or loads luggage, boxes and packages onto bell cart to transport items to guestrooms or meeting rooms (for groups)Escorts guests to guestrooms, visually inspects room and telephone and deficiencies such as TV remote etc and informs engineering immediately. Points out room features and directory for reference, familiarize guests with amenities.Offers ice to each arriving guests upon delivery of luggage.Listens and responds to guest inquiries using a positive and clear voice. Answers questions and offers assistance.Provides directions to nearby attractions.Initiates requests to taxi cab companies upon guest requests.Places newspapers in bags and delivers them to guest rooms.Runs errands for guests, off property such as purchase or pick up of items.Delivers faxes, packages, mail etc to guestrooms.Maintains and posts hotel reader boards and public area signage.Cleans and polishes bell carts and other equipment used in the department.Maintains a guest log sheet daily.Answers bell desk phone and provides information as needed.Reads and matches luggage tags, writes claim tickets and detaches portion to give to guest.Ensure Hotel entrance and Lobby area are clean and presentable at all times.Job Knowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesExcellent interpersonal and problem resolutions skills.Excellent communication and organization skillsWalking and standing for long periods of timeMust be able to lift up to 75lbs.Minimum of one year of customer service experienceFluency in job related English both verbal and non-verbal.No job description for any position can possibly include all duties which may be requested by guests or required by the needs of the hotel.
