We’re looking forward to meeting you!Be a Part Of a TeamThis is an amazing opportunity for a Technical Superintendent (Bulk Carriers) to join our Fleet Management department. By entering this team, you'll help ensure that BSM operates ethically and according to international regulations and industry standards.

Job ObjectiveMonitor and control the safe and cost-efficient technical operation of assigned vessels using the available resources, the defined parameters of cost, commercial viability, and operational excellence in line with Owners’ expectations. Ensure environmental compliance policies are upheld. Key AccountabilitiesSupport strategic goals: Assists in promoting and supporting BSM’s strategic goals.

Ship Technical SupportUnderstands the contractual agreements with customers to be able to deliver the same with regards to the ship management services for each assigned vessel, in a safe and cost-efficient mannerKeeps close contact with clients, maintains good working relationships with client representatives who are involved in the operations of the company's vesselsProvides technical and operational support to assigned vessels.

Safety of OperationsMonitors the effective operation of the equipment and machinery of the assigned vessels, identifying potential discrepancies from operational standards and proposes and/or implements solutions that will enhance the efficiency, performance and safety of the vesselsParticipates in the development of the maintenance and repairs plan for the assigned vessels and monitors its accurate executionArranges and executes Drydock activities at regular intervalsDevelops, maintains, monitors and reports budgets for all assigned vesselsMonitors all vessels trading certificates to ensure compliance with existing maritime legislation, safety regulations and operational standard requirements of all regulatory bodies.

Technical Inspections/Internal AuditsManages all vessel visits, audits and inspections effectively right from planning to implementation and follow up with the aim of supporting and enhancing the operational efficiency of the assigned vesselsResponsible for communication, promotion and implementation of company's health, safety, environment and quality policy on board the vessels related to technicalIn liaison with LPSQ and FPD, assists and supports sea staff with alignment of technical requirementsAssists with the Company initiatives regarding the human element.

Purchasing ActivitiesEvaluates the quotations / bids received from the TO and gives the approval to proceed with the placing of the orderEnsures the timely supply and quality of all required spare parts and stores to vessels. Management Of ResourcesCoach, engage, motivate, mentor employees to develop their strengths and build their capabilities as per their defined roles and personal goal. Identifies training needs and provides on board training to ship staff during ship visitsActive involvement in the continual improvement process of the Company Management System to maintain compliance with customer requirements, expectationsas well as international / national regulations. RequirementsQualifications and Experience:

Bachelor's / Master’s degree in Mechanical/ Marine / Electrical/ Naval Engineering, or related field. At least 3 years of sailing experience as Senior Officer, and / or at least 5 years of shore experience as a technical superintendent with a ship management/owning companyJob Specific SkillsStrong knowledge of vessels’ technical requirements and voyage regulations. Excellent project management skills. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Good organisational skills. Teamwork and cooperation. Experience in customer management. Fluency in English. PC literacy.
