Human Relations Manager position is responsible for the HR function providing services that facilitate greater effectiveness throughout the territory. The successful candidate is preferred to have strong labor relations background and understand the full value of associate engagement and what that means to accomplish business strategies. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIESPartner with the plant leadership team to recruit, onboard and develop an associate workforce to maximize plant and sales efficiencies and associate involvement on a daily basis. Facilitate the employment process including recruitment, selection and new hire onboarding activities. Develop appropriate career paths and training for associates as the site matures.
Serve as advisor to associates with concerns relating to benefits, compensation, skill development and other HR matters. Assist and coach supervisors and associates in administering the company’s progressive discipline procedures. Interpret and apply governmental laws and regulations, as well as established corporate policies. Investigate, respond to and attend unemployment hearings. Serve as a payroll liaison between associates and the payroll department. Train supervisors on compliance Provide advice and consultation to management on personnel issues and programs that are legal, practical and support the company’s mission, vision, and values. Develop and provide management and leadership training.
Perform other duties as assignedPosition Requirements A Bachelors or Master’s degree in Human Resources/Organizational Development/Industrial Psychology preferred5-7 years of experience operating in union environment preferredExcellent organizational, communication and presentation skillsComputer skills and proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Power PointMust have a strong knowledge of federal and state labor laws Excellent interpersonal skillsMaintenance of the confidentiality of any personal or company information encountered
