Come and OWN IT!Purpose:As Biotechnology Specialist, you will provide specialized expertise in microbiology and fermentation, in particular when applied to natural compounds biosynthesis and biotics functional ingredients (probiotics, postbiotics and synbiotics). Focus will be on nutrition and physiology of natural functional ingredients for use in no alcohol beverages. Working both with internal teams and external partners, you will ensuring the safety, efficacy, and regulatory compliance of products containing these ingredients. This role is critical in driving innovation while upholding the highest safety standards in our portfolio of no-alcohol beverages.The role:Safety Assessments: Conduct comprehensive toxicological evaluations of functional ingredients to ensure compliance with global regulatory requirements.Research & Analysis: Analyze the properties, safety profiles, and functional benefits of functional ingredients used in product development. Working closely with the R&D team, the product development team and the product research team to design roadmaps and projects related to the biosynthesis of desired functional ingredients as well as biotics.Regulatory Support: Provide scientific guidance to ensure products meet national and international regulations, including labeling and permissible ingredient levels.Risk Mitigation: Develop risk assessment strategies and mitigation plans for potential safety concerns related to biosynthetic and biotics ingredients.Collaboration: Work closely with R&D, quality assurance, and legal teams to align scientific findings with business goals. Develop, nurture and leverage a network of external suppliers and partners (research laboratories, analytical laboratories, academic research groups, start-ups, industrial manufacturers, suppliers).Innovation Leadership: Contribute to the development of innovative functional no-alcohol beverages by providing insights on emerging trends and new ingredient applications, with the aim of generating IP and differentiation for our innovations.Who we’re looking for:Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Pharmacology, Biochemistry or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., DABT) are a plus.Min. 5 years of experience in microbiology, biotechnology, or a related field, preferably within the food, beverage, or FMCG industries.Strong knowledge of quality and efficacy testing, risk assessment, and the functional properties of supplement and food ingredients.Deep understanding of nutrition and physiology is an asset.Detail-oriented, innovative, and passionate about ensuring product safety while driving botanical innovation.Fluent in English, other languages are an asset.What We OfferAt AB InBev, your ambition meets limitless opportunities.
