Full Time, permanentOffice Based, Wolstanton, StaffordshireWe are an electrical contractor’s looking for an experienced bookkeeper to join our team based at our offices in Wolstanton, Staffordshire. The role will include other administration responsibilities to support the business operations (split, 3 days bookkeeping and 2 days administration per week).Key Responsibilities:Recording and reconciling invoices, payments and bank transactionsProcessing of payrollProcessing subcontractor invoices, CIS deductions and returnsSales and purchase ledger transactions (Sage Accounting)Ensuring the correct application of VAT and the VAT Reverse schemePreparation of quarterly VAT returnsWeekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly journals and reportingMaintaining accurate transactional recordsProviding ad-hoc financial insight to support business decisionsThis is a hands-on, varied role in a business that values accuracy, reliability and collaborationOther administration work to support the businessCandidate ideally will have:Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, ideally within a similar industryDemonstrable, hands-on experience with Sage 50A solid understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principlesExperience in preparing and submitting VAT returnsStrong attention to detail and a high level of accuracyExcellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a busy workloadThe ability to work independently and as part of a teamBourne Electrical Contractors Ltd are an electrical contracting business and have been trading since 1995. Opening is due to retirement of our long serving bookkeeper/accounts clerk.
