Purpose of the roleThe Senior Business Manager role reports to the Senior Manager Retail and Convenience and is responsible for the performance and development of Business Managers and Store Managers within allocated regions. The role holds direct responsibility for safety, people, compliance, commercial and brand performance.
Key AccountabilitiesChampion safety and compliance across the network, including responsibility for incident investigations and recommendations at a senior level within the Ops teamAchievement of region-based P&L, ensuring sales margin and EBITDA targets are achievedDevelopment of Business Managers and Store Managers, ensuring they have the skills, knowledge, and capability to perform their roles effectivelyDevelopment of region-based people plan in conjunction with the Senior Manager Retail & ConvenienceDevelopment of Operations strategies in support of/to deliver on broader retail strategiesSupport the development of regional structures to get the best people and commercial outcomes for the businessSenior Ops leader within the NZ Retail business, providing thought leadership in safety, engagement and commercial deliveryManagement and leadership of employment/disciplinary issues for senior site roles/when escalatedOps-based projects as requiredEssential Skills And ExperienceStrong direct/indirect people leadership capability with a proven track record of achieving results through coaching and developing teamsFinancial literacy:
ability to analyse financial statements & performance dashboards, (P&L, KPI’s) to develop and execute operational plans.
