Job Title: Leading Hand – Mangawhai Location: MangawhaiCompany: Brendan Murray Construction (BMC)Employment Type: Full TimeAbout The RoleWe’re after a reliable Leading Hand to join our site team for a retirement village project in Mangawhai. You’ll be working closely with the Site Manager to keep the job running smoothly – making sure health and safety is up to scratch, quality checks are getting done, and the site is staying tidy and on track. You’ll be across everything from daily check-ins to picking up materials, defecting, and holding subs accountable.
Key Responsibilities Weekly site inspections and reporting Running daily pre-starts and helping keep the team organised Managing health & safety setups and signage Carrying out quality checks throughout the build (e. g.
pre-pour, pre-paint, final inspections) Weekly material and hardware quantity checks on site Keeping the site tidy and making sure subcontractors clean up after themselves Supporting defecting and quality control in the final stages of each build Dealing with on-site issues and working with the Site Manager to get them sorted Managing skip bins and waste separation Picking up materials and gear from merchants as neededWhat We’re After Carpentry background Strong understanding of health & safety and quality standards Proactive and solutions-focused Confident communicator who can lead by example Based in or near Mangawhai, or willing to travel Full driver’s licenceWhat’s In It For You Steady pipeline of work in Mangawhai Supportive crew and solid company culture Opportunity to grow into a Site Manager role
