With a long-term investment mindset and a culture that values teamwork, professionalism, and service excellence, they continue to set the standard for property management and building operations.Your New RoleAs Building Operator, you’ll play an integral role in maintaining the operational integrity and performance of a high-quality portfolio. You’ll work closely with the Property Management team to ensure building systems run efficiently, tenants are well-supported, and all maintenance programs are delivered to the highest standard.Day to day, you’ll perform inspections, troubleshoot and maintain mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC/BAS systems, and coordinate with contractors to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently. You’ll also oversee preventative maintenance programs, perform general repairs, and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.Beyond the technical scope, you’ll maintain strong relationships with tenants, ensuring their comfort, safety, and satisfaction. You’ll support property management with administrative tasks such as tracking work orders, updating maintenance logs, and coordinating contractor schedules. You’ll also assist with capital projects, seasonal operations, and risk management initiatives, contributing to the long-term value and sustainability of the portfolio.What Sets You ApartYou bring 5+ years of experience in building operations, ideally within a commercial or mixed-use real estate environment. You’re knowledgeable in mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and life-safety systems, with hands-on technical skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving. A 5th Class Power Engineering certification (or equivalent) is preferred, and additional technical training or journeyman certification is an asset.You’re organized, detail-oriented, and confident managing contractors while maintaining strong communication with tenants and internal teams. Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with maintenance software such as Yardi will serve you well. A valid driver’s license and First Aid certification are required.Most importantly, you have a proactive mindset and bring professionalism, integrity, and a service oriented approach to everything you do.
