Our client is looking for a Building Quality Manager to lead their Building Consent Authority (BCA) through an exciting period of change and improvement. With recent leadership changes, this is a rare opportunity to build your own team, shape the direction of the service, and modernise how building quality is delivered across the district.The OpportunityIn this role, you’ll take charge of the full BCA and Territorial Authority functions while helping to modernise systems, processes, and customer experience. You’ll have strong support from senior leadership and genuine autonomy to drive change.You WillLead and develop a high-performing building quality teamMaintain BCA accreditation and strengthen quality assurance systemsBuild strong working relationships across Council and the construction sectorGuide elected officials and senior leaders with clear technical and strategic adviceIntroduce smarter ways of working — including digital transformation and process improvementOversee budgets, contracts, and key commercial decisionsWhat We’re Looking ForAn experienced BCA leader who brings both technical knowledge and the mindset to drive improvement.You Will Ideally HaveRegulation 18 BCA registration and/or a relevant building control qualificationStrong understanding of the Building Act and BCA accreditation requirementsExperience managing and developing teams in regulatory or compliance environmentsConfidence presenting to senior stakeholders and translating technical topics into plain languageA future-focused outlook — comfortable with change and able to lead others through it.Who You AreStrategic and big-picture thinkerCollaborative and approachable leaderComfortable working in an evolving environmentProactive and solutions-focusedMotivated by building better services and better outcomes for the communityWhy This Role MattersThe building consent sector is evolving quickly — from Government reform to digital transformation.
