Job Description

The role of Business Analyst - Data forms a critical part of the delivery team for the development and improvement of With Intelligence data workflows.They will analyse, document, and summarise existing workflows, systems, and data capture/processing capabilities. They will work closely with end users and stakeholders within the Data Teams to reflect how the business operates today and what the target state is.Working within a matrix operating model across Data, Technology, and Product, their focus is to prepare and support requirements in the backlogs of our Data Capture, Data Automation, and Data Enrichment Development Squads.They will be part of the newly formed Data Management Team, reporting into the Head of Data but working closely with other key stakeholders, and supporting the backlog management tasks undertaken by the Product Owners.As improving data workflows is at the heart of the role, a potent blend of core business analyst skills, along with an excellent grasp of data processing and management, is integral to succeeding in this role.As such this role could be a good opportunity for someone looking to move from data operations into a data management or product management role.Alternatively, suitable candidates would have prior BA experience working in a data operations business.Generate and maintain documentation of current data and editorial systems, applications, and workflowsWork with stakeholders from Data to document target state for future workflows and enhancements to existing workflowsClearly articulate the business drivers, benefits and desired outcomes of enhancements to enable prioritisation of developments with traceability back to the business impactDraft requirements and prepare user stories, working closely with Data Subject Matter Experts, Product Owner and Technology teamsParticipate in Agile events including stand-ups, sprint ceremonies and backlog refinement and preparation sessionsUndertake data analysis to support decisions and prioritisations around improvements to data workflowsUndertake / participate in testing approach, planning, and activity to support development of tools and processes as required, e.g. through creation of User Acceptance Test scenarios and scripts as requiredIdentify stakeholders impacted by change and communicate progress and decisions to ensure expectations are managed and business readiness activities are alignedActively seek feedback from end-users and stakeholders across the Data and Product teams to improve processes and solutionsSet up and coordinate meetings and sessions to support development activityWork closely with developers, to ensure that requirements are understood and met throughout the development lifecycleRequirementsPrevious experience in a Business analyst or equivalent roleGood written communication skillsExperience of working within an Agile environmentExperience of creating data documents and artefactsTeam playerPositive and proactiveProven ability at stakeholder managementData analysis skills such as SQL, PowerBI etc ...
